APRIL 30TH: Today marked the first month of the monthly challenges. The monthly challenge happens at the end of the month, trying to get as close as the end of the month as you can. If you can't on the 31th, or 30th, that’s ok, just do the best you can; April 30th 2018 was a Monday. The point of this challenge is to do something physically challenging that you don't normally train for, or at least have specifically trained for. It is something you think about completing about a before. So you really don't have a choice to prepare. Let your friends come up with the challenge and don't let them tell you, or don’t even think about it till the time comes. Pretty simple, right?
Since today marked the first challenge, I will use mine as an example. This comes a little different than the weekly challenges because I normally do them with you. However, I figured I'd try out the first one, then from now on, let you all know as well. I hope you don't mind that you missed this one. I 'pushed out' 1000 pushups. My thought process behind this was 1000 seems like a cool number. A reachable number, but definitely not a number you hit on a daily, weekly, or normal month basis. I dropped down in the morning, afternoon, and evening. I didn't do them all at once, just completed them before the day was over. I usually did sets of 50 if I could. If not I did 30 and 20 until the last 100 where I tried to push them out as fast as possible and did 10 sets of 10. But I finished. AND, I had a partner. My stud 57 year old dad did them right with me. He did smaller sets, but did them. It was awesome. It was a great first month challenge and it was extremely rewarding finishing all 1000.
I still performed all the daily activities I wanted to accomplish today, still was able to enjoy a fantastic dinner, and finished helping pops move in to his new pad. It was a fantastic day and a fantastic challenge. SO.. You can choose to perform this challenge now, or wait until the next month's challenge. It is completely up to you.
