For our September monthly challenge, we are going to feel some pain. We are going to do 500 kettle bell swings. It sounds pretty terrible but it was a recommendation by a friend and he said it was a good mix of terrible yet satisfying. Picking the weight of the kettle bell is of the utmost importance.. Obviously. We want to pick a weight that isn't too light yet not too heavy. You have to be careful because picking the weight now may feel pretty good, but at rep 300, you may have choose extremely poorly. Once you pick the weight, please try your best not to exchange it out for a lighter one. Break through that mental barrier. But if you're starting to feel injury, please stop, feel it out, reduce the weight, or stop all together. No sense in getting injured over some kettle bell swings. Feel free to vary to type of swing, Russian or American for example. Switch it up and do some one handers, or flips, whatever. 500 is your goal.
Currently my hip flexors are in absolute pain and tight, so this should be interesting. Buuuut, nevertheless I'm excited as always to complete the challenge and knock off another grueling monthly challenge of the list! My guestimation for time on this one, is under 35 mins. I still haven't picked my weight yet, so that could vary based on how heavy I decide to go, yet I think 35 mins is a solid time to beat. That’s broken down into 20 swings a minute for 25 mins plus 10 mins of overall rest period. We will see. Good luck everyone! Be sure to post your times!
