NO T.V. People watch T.V. all day some times. I actually just read a statistic about how the average American watches around 5 hours of T.V. a day. That is just unacceptable. So instead of wasting 5 hours a day, each day this week, lets do something else to fill that void. Lets go outside, lets go explore, lets go walking, lets go hang out with people, talk with people, love people. Lets learn what we can do outside of the idiot box and help each other out. I think this will be a good opportunity for us to go outside of our realm if you’re a big TV watcher. If you're not, well try and fill that void anyways. Try and take something you do regularly that isn't necessarily the best, take it out this week and replace it with something else. Replace those bad habits with something productive and something you can learn from. The absence of T.V. for us will push us in the right direction to becoming better people and more well rounded individuals. We can do this and we can win.
Trust me. I know its NHL playoffs right now. I know its NBA playoffs right now. I love my San Jose Sharks who are killing it and I love my Warriors. That is no excuse. We can't pick and choose when we want to do something. We adapt to what comes and make the best of every situation. We need to mold our mind to not let little things bother us, while simultaneously attacking those annoying, irritating threats that come into your life with positivity. That is what will push us in the right direction. Good luck and can't wait to watch the playoff games next week! Enjoy
REFLECTION: Not watching T.V. Was actually pretty easy for me because I don't watch T.V. as it is. I think TV is probably not the best way to use your time. Funny enough, I didn't have a tv in my house for the longest time. I didn't feel a need. And cable.. Nobody needs cable any more. With internet, netflex, amazon, firesticks, hulu, etc, there is absolutely no need for cable tv anymore. So if you still have cable, please get rid of it... So this week was amazing because the option to watch tv didn't even cross my mind. The downside is I missed a bunch of amazing playoff games. It could have been worse, it could have been the championships, but still, a playoff game is a playoff game. I missed my warriors advance through the first round. I missed my Sharks first two games in the second round, one of those which went into double over time and they won. I missed two Giants games but life goes on. I read a lot, I hung out with people, I focused more on people out at the bars. I did glance at Tv's from time to time, but I would hardly call that watching tv. Overall, it was an easy week, however, a fulfilling one. It was an easy success, and it was a perfect fit into the schedule.
I hope everyone else's week were a success and you all enjoyed it. With screens now an attachment of our daily lives, it is nice to sometimes relax and not stare at a screen; even if it is only two hours a day less.. Shoot 30 mins a day less, its better than nothing. Just remember that little steps are steps towards big steps and those big steps are moving toward life changing steps. So stay focused, learn each and every day, and have a blast doing it.
