YOGA! Yoga is a fantastic way to ease the mind, relax the body, and strengthen your core and body. For thousands of years, yoga has been proven beneficial to individuals who perform it occasionally, or passionately. This week we will perform yoga at least once a day for at least 10 mins. That’s not much to ask. Anywhere from 10-30 is awesome and if you do an hour class, that’s even better. You can do it outside, inside, with a group, in a sauna, or combine it with some meditation. Like always, it is up to you how you would like to perform yoga this week, just remember to keep it loose and fun. For those who do yoga regularly, maybe throw in a late night sesh before bed or maybe an early morning loosen to start the day on the right page. Whatever your fancy, lets succeed and push ourselves forward into the next week!

REFLECTION: How did everyone feel this week with their yoga ritual? I felt as though my yoga sessions were beneficial and I should keep them going into the days and routines to follow. They were short, but the stretch and movements were there. Being in Estonia, my sunsets lasted hours. I would set up my towel (I didn't have a mat) on the outside deck and perform my movements in the lasting sunrise. I had ocean views, windy air, and no lack of bugs flying around me. I didn't use any type of music of videos to supplement, I just moved and followed my body. I've done yoga in the past and have a general idea of the fundamental movements. It was a brief moment of solitude in my busy day. Overall, it was a great week, a fulfilling week. One of my favorite experiences from doing yoga is the twitch in your muscles. When you are in a position where it’s a struggle to hold, a struggle to get there, but you know its exactly where you are supposed to be. Your muscles start to tingle and twitch and you're feeling the movement deep in your muscles. It’s the perfect balance between strain and stretch and it feels amazing. I love when that moment happens, and it doesn't happen all the time. I remember one of my first classes inside of my local gym in college. I wasn't sure if that was the right feeling I was suppose to have, but I was soon assured. If my memory serves me right, that class was a Bikram class (hot yoga), and it was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Physically your hands are slipping on the mat, sweat is dripping down your face and into your eyes, your muscles are tired and blood is rushing through them, the stretches are deeper than they have ever been. Mentally your mind is telling you to release the movement but you know you can't. The heat is effecting your breathing and making you focus on each and every breath. Its an experience I was happy to have gone through, but will be reluctant to do it again. After the hour and twenty mins I looked like I had just gotten out of the pool with my clothes on. I couldn't believe it. Actually, I did jump in the pool with all my clothes on after. It was a great ending to a great yoga day. That’s just one of my experiences with yoga, and this week gave me more. I hope you found this week as beneficial as I did!
