Week 33: This week is a cleanse. But in a slightly different version than the fast we just completed. We are going to clean our kitchens. Physically sure, but I know in my life I walk into the kitchen to open the fridge, the pantry, the cabinets to check for something to eat, or out of boredom. But I believe we have all done this in some way or another. Well, while looking in there, you see those items that have been in there to what it seems is your whole life. Those cans that sit in the back of the pantry, the salad dressing you haven't used in months or last year for that one meal you ate. You all know what I'm talking about and its time for those items to go. So this week we will go in, every day or a few hours after work and go through it. I want you to be as frank as possible with yourself and let go of those items in your kitchen that you haven't used in years and don't ever see yourself using in the next two weeks. Don't be optimistic. And don't be an idiot and start throwing away perfectly good food. We want to walk into our kitchen next week and know exactly what's in there, to know where everything is, and to know that nothing is expired. I don't want late night wondering and goalless searching of the pantry when you can't sleep. I want us to move in a direction where everything is there for a purpose. And when you go to the grocery store, you spend $40 a week and not $200 on things that may taste good once or you need for one recipe and never use again. That's just careless people. So get a different type of cleanse this week and put forth all effort to know yourself, what food you ACTUALLY eat and what you can give back to the homeless shelter on Sunday! Thanks guys and have a great week!

REFLECTION: This week couldn't have been more of a success. My fridge is almost empty, my pantry is labelled and only half full, and there is nothing in my cabinets. I threw most stuff away that couldn't be used again, that was expired and the rest I drove to a homeless shelter so others could benefit. I now know what is in my pantry and don't have to worry about what I have in there when I'm at the store so I won't buy extras and waste my hard earned cash. I spend $39 at the grocery store and it will last me all week. I refrained from my habit of Uber eats and cooked almost every meal. The times I struggled were lunch when I went out to eat but every time was with friends and I benefited from other factors. I know have a clean, organized and well understood kitchen and pantry with food I know I can use and most importantly WILL use in the very near future. Some ways I did this were sticking to a simple and clean diet plan consisting of veggies, meats, and the occasional quinoa or rice. My snack food is a protein smoothie and trail mix. My breakfast is my bulletproof tea concoction and I also grabbed a gallon of V8 juice to get some extra goodness in the mornings. Pretty simple, and some might find it boring, but it works, keeps me on my game and is cheap. But all this started with a fresh slate and cleanse of the cabinets. Hope you all saw some benefits from this week and please comment with any negatives!
