We are going to beef up our vocabulary. Each day we are going to learn a new word. This can be any word you choose, so long as, you don't know what it means already, you haven't heard it before, and you have the ability to use it in a sentence in your daily life… at least 5 times. So to summarize, learn a word, use it in a sentence five different times, each day. Simple enough? You'll be Webster yourself by Sunday. I believe that there are around 171,000 words in the English language. I think people on average, know around 30,000. So our goal this week is to know 30,006 by Sunday morning haha. You get the point. But honestly, that’s a little sad, don't you think? What is that, around 20%? Depending on the person. We have to step up our game people. We have to stop using the same words in our daily lives and at least act like we're smarter. I'm all for the Mark Twain quote, " It's better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt." but when the time comes to speak, lets make action speak for itself. There's no negatives with this challenge. So get out there, hop on dictionary.com and sign up for the word of the day and start incorporating some new words into your vocabulary. And of course, make sure to actually use them throughout the day, at least five times, so you can make an attempt to remember them next week so all hope isn't lost! Good luck everyone, let's get more knowledgeable.

REFLECTION: What an incredibly difficult challenge. I did not expect little vocab words to beat me. I used Words of The Day from Dictionary.com and there were so difficult to incorporate in daily conversion. My words for their respective day were: Kyoodle, Scry, Claddagh, Cyclopean, Locavore, Caboshed. (I'll put the definitions at the bottom for you.) But ridiculous. My first problem was remembering what they were. I starting writing them on my left hand from Wednesday on because I kept forgetting how to pronounce them. Then I had to look up the definitions multiple times a day. It made me feel inferior. I'm not exactly sure how many times I got each one in for the day, but I know I did say at least each one once a day. And very awkwardly I'm sure. I guess I better start reading more.
Kyoodle: to bark or yelp noisily or foolishly. (might work great for college kids)
Scry: to use divination to discover hidden knowledge or future events. ( didn't go see a crystal ball reader..
Claddagh: a ring in the form of two hands clasping a crowned heart, given in friendship or love. (no clue)
Cyclopean: gigantic; vast. (the easiest one to bring into conversion. You just get weird looks)
Locavore: a person who makes an effort to eat food that is grow, raised, or produced locally, usually within 100 miles of home. (not too bad, ate at a couple local grown lunch spots in Virginia Beach)
Caboshed: shown facing forward without a neck. Like a deer looking at you. ( doesn't work too well for people…)
Little note for everyone, Kyoodle, Scry, and Caboshed all have red lines under them..
