FUCK. This week will be the absence of the word fuck and all iterations that you can think of. No add-ons, no substitutions, and especially no filler words to fill the void when you would normally use fuck. The goal is to completely eliminate the word and any location you would normally use the word in daily conversation. We want to create a flow with our sentences, getting to the point and to sound more intelligent. Filler words create confusion, rather we want to be clear and concise. By choosing your words carefully, it allows you to get to your point faster and sound professional at the same time. That is our goal here. I also believe you will choose all your words more carefully as well. For each sentence that exits your mouth you have to make sure you don’t let the bad habit beat you. The reason I chose fuck rather than all curse words is because I think fuck is mostly used. The word fuck has more versatility than any other word in the English dictionary. You hopefully will put enough thought into not saying fuck which in turn will probably make you cut the others as well, but we shall see. I honestly think by three to four days, we will all speak significantly better.

REFLECTION: This went absolutely terrible for me. I completely failed at cancelling out the f word and couldn't have been more wrong from my original hypothesis. The only thing that I did do better is become conscious when it would slip out. I definitely cut my usage down, but I don't think I went a day without saying it. I think failing is good though because I know I'm not making this too easy on myself and hopefully that’s the case for you too. Maybe you decided to choose a different word, and had the same struggles as I did, either way I think this was a good challenge. But it's not over. Since I failed, I am going to continue this challenge into week 5 to accompany week 5's challenge. I still haven't thought of it yet, but I'm sure it will be a good one for us. My failure brought out that I need to break the habit. If I can't go a week without saying the f word, that means I rely on it and that’s never a good thing. You should be able to cut anything for a week and still be successful in your daily life. This could be anything from food, to certain clothing, to health standards, to partying. So I want to break my habit and better myself by eliminating the most versatile profanity of the English language. Currently, I use it for everything. How I react to something, how I feel when I wake up in the morning, before a workout I know is going to suck. What makes it worse, is I can't think of more appropriate words that should fit in these type of scenarios. That's honestly what makes me mad the most. Out of all my years of education I can't think of another word than the f word when I see something crazy happen? Or when I complain about the alarm in the morning? That’s f**king (joking) pathetic. It's embarrassing really. Talk about a reality check.
